After Finland, Italy, Romania, Slovenia and some regions of Spain, it is the turn of Greece to adopt the ETSI PEMEA standard to improve acessibility for people with disabilities to emergency services.
“With 112 as a tool, Civil Protection is planning its “next day, the new generation” as the special pan-European emergency application, PEMEA will come under 112. It is a pan-European network-standard that enables emergency applications that have been developed in other European countries, to operate in Greece. This specific will give the possibility beyond the classic communication channels, for citizens to communicate via video, so that they can also be served in sign language.”
